Warranty Information
When purchasing an ED G Crank the customer recognizes and accepts that it is made from used components. All ED G Cranks are made with original BSA, Norton or Triumph crankshaft components. All new material is made from 4140 steel. All cranks are checked for cracks or other defects before they are used as source components. We do the best we can, using these components, and can only guarantee the quality of the welding, heat treating, grinding and final journal surface polishing. We can only guarantee the balance factor if original components, as identified by the customer, for the crank when it is ordered and balanced, are used.
A balance factor of 50% is used for all crankshafts unless a customer specifies another balance factor. The customer must supply accurate weights for piston, wrist pin, piston rings and circlips and guarantee that weights are equal for each piston. The customer must specify the type of connecting rod that will be used (stock, MAP or other). Weight information from MAP or stock BSA, Norton, Triumph (long or short rod) connecting rods, that ED G Cranks has on-hand, will be used for balancing and to check fit of connecting rods with new bearing shells. If another connecting rod is being used it must be sent to ED G Cranks for accurate balancing to be done.
Since we have no control how these cranks are used, what modifications are being made to an engine (beyond stock condition) or the skill of the person assembling an engine with an ED G Crank, we limit our guarantee to the replacement of a crank that breaks. We will not replace any other components that may be damaged when a crank is broken. ED G Cranks reserves the right to test a returned crankshaft, or its related components, for the purpose of determing the cause of a failure. We may refuse to replace a crankshaft that has been obviously mis-used or altered from original condition as supplied by ED G Cranks in any way. A crankshaft will not be replaced if the original crank is not returned for us to determine what went wrong.
ED G Cranks and Ed G Disks By Me are both divisions of 781222 Ontario Limited. This corporation is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Regulations that apply for warranty and/or guarantees in other countries of the world may not apply in relation to products sold by ED G Cranks or Ed G Disks By Me.
