Offset Crankshafts for Norton Atlas & Commando (650, 750, 850 & 920cc)

All crankshafts are welded, ground, nitrided and balanced to your requirements. Customer must supply donor crank halves (flywheel not required) and weight of one piston, rings, wrist pin, circlips and connecting rod if stock Norton rod is not being used. Standard Norton offsets include 90, 80 & 74 degrees. Other offsets available upon request including all-welded standard crankshafts with lightweight welded flywheel and sludge-trap plug. Drive side journal is offset behind the timing side journal in the direction of crank rotation to assist users in finding custom camshafts.

Norton cams can be modified to match specified crankshaft but a custom cam from a reputable supplier is recommended. An oil filter must be used with all crankshafts. All cranks are lighter then stock as well as having less inertial weight. Commando cranks are balanced to 50% unless another balance factor is specified by customer. SPECIAL! SPECIAL! SPECIAL! Light-weight crank with Johnson cam now available for $1500. As of January 7, 2009 there is only one crank remaining at this special price. If demand warrants it this special may be repeated in March subject to lead time for camshafts.

Camshaft Modification:

$150.00 for 90 or 80 degree offset if donor camshaft lobes are harder then Rc40. If camshaft is softer then modification includes re-hardening to Rc55 for additional $50. Stock cams can also be re-hardened for $75 including lobe polishing.
